So all your friends keep saying you need a massage, or your body is sore and you've decided to try a massage, whatever the reason you are ready to get your first massage. It is normal to be a little nervous, as this is something you haven't done, and we've all heard good and bad things from other people about their massage experience. Number one we want you to be comfortable, so we will set up the table with a top and bottom sheet, a face cradle and a bolster for your feet. Your therapist will ask you some questions, allergies, areas of pain, areas to avoid, then they will ask you to undress to your comfort level and climb under the top sheet, while they step out of the room and wash their hands, normally face down to start (unless you are pregnant or have some reason why that wont be comfortable for you). Your comfort level means exactly that, if you want to leave your underwear on do so, if you prefer to wear shorts, do so, if you need to leave your bra on do so, if you are not comfortable you cant relax, and that is the first goal of a massage.Okay so you are on the table under the sheet, the therapist will only uncover the area they are working on and will tuck the sheets to keep you from ever being exposed. You will be face down approximately half the time, then we will tent the sheet for you to turnover, at no point will we see anything we are not working on. At the end of your massage the therapist will step out of the room and wash their hands while you get dressed. During your massage, if you are too cold, too hot, not enough oil, too much pressure, not enough pressure, uncomfortable with where or how your therapist is massaging, have questions, please speak up, we want your experience to be a fabulous one, as you will become a fan of massage which is how our business grows. As massage therapists we hate to hear of anyone having a terrible massage, and know that through communication everyone can have a great massage. Book yours today!
